Hiking on Rodenecker Alp

When hiking on Rodenecker Alp, the selection ranges from leisurely high-altitude trails to the tour up to the 2,194-meter-high Astjoch. In between, Oberhauserhütte, Naturhotel Runa, Rastnerhütte, Starkenfeldhütte, and Kreuzwiesenalm invite you to stop for refreshments – accompanied by changing views of the South Tyrolean mountain world and the Dolomites.

Alpine adventures for families

The Creation Trail gives young hikers something new to discover along the way. Artistically designed stations explore the creation story, while animals in the pastures provide additional variety. The Pianer Cross and its small chapel also offer a lovely shared hiking destination.

Winter on Rodenecker Alp

Winter Rodenecker Alm

Even in winter, Rodenecker Alp shows how versatile its high plateau is. Around 25 kilometers of cross-country ski trails for classic and skating make it an insider tip for cross-country skiers, while snowshoes lead on a scenic tour up to the 2,194-meter-high Astjoch. Ski touring and tobogganing provide further variety, open alpine huts offer well-deserved stops for refreshments – and the Full Moon Dinner turns the snow-covered alp into a special experience in the moonlight.

Stage by stage on the Dolorama

Those seeking longer distances will find the Dolorama on the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp. The multi-day long-distance trail continues toward the Dolomites and makes the high plateau part of a larger mountain experience. A delightful contrast to the classic day trip with a return to Forchnerhof.

Alpine trails by bike

Mountain bikes and e-bikes open up a different range: you can rent e-bikes directly from us at the farm and use them on forest roads to connect longer distances, elevation gains, and various refreshment stops. Shaded forest sections alternate with open high plateaus – and along the way, the mountain scenery reveals itself from new perspectives.
